#1 First and foremost, I don’t work out as much as people think I do. I played sports all my life growing up and I even was active throughout college. As far as running a mile everyday, let alone doing daily squats is something I just don’t do. I must admit that I need to get better with working out and incorporating some form of exercise in my life though. I’m no gym rat. Don’t be fooled!
#2 Water! Water! Water! I can’t express anymore how important water is. I literally drink water everyday over anything. When going out to eat, I always have water with a lemon! One tip is when going out to eat or getting any form of fast food, order water. One, it doesn’t cost you anything….. Two, it’s so much healthier for you. I know some of you love sweet tea (hey! We’re in Georgia, lol), coke products, fruit punch, etc… but trade all of that out for WATER!
#3 Everyone that knows me knows I LOVE TO EAT! But one thing about my eating habits is that I tend to do it in moderation. With moderation, my eating choices are healthy! Everyday for lunch, I eat a salad. Some of you may say EW… salad? But no! Salads can actually be personalized to anything you want in them. Pre-prepping my salads saves me so much time with my busy schedule. For the most part my salads consist of:
-Spinach or Romaine Lettuce. I’m anti – Iceberg Lettuce
-Real bacon bits
-Sliced boiled eggs
Once again, your salad doesn’t have to be like identical to mine.
Add in stuff that you like! Ranch isn’t the best choice of
dressing, but I usually do that or an oil & vinegar type of dressing.
#4 Hot tea is extremely good for you. Some of my favorite teas include: green tea, black tea, organic tea, detox tea, etc. I can do almost any tea that doesn’t have any added caffeine in it. Every morning I wake up and have a hot cup of tea and every single night before bed I drink tea as well. #5 More home cooked meals/buying healthy groceries and eating less fast food meals.
I feel that if you truly want to lose weight, it starts with your eating first.
Cut back on the fried foods, breads, and sugary foods that will sneak in that extra fat. Instead of cookies, donuts, chips, and microwavable food, trade it in for fresh fruits & veggies, fruit cups, low fat jello, yogurt, raisins, nuts, or frozen yogurt.
Working out is so imperative, but eating right is the first step you have to take in losing weight!
#6 Bonus* DISCLAIMER: I HAVE NEVER TRIED THIS METHOD, BUT I HEARD IT WORKS WONDERS!
One of my faculty members at my job was telling me how she lost 20 pounds in 3 months. Basically she had a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar everyday, ate regularly, and did not exercise. She stated that you MUST have it when you first wake up, and then drink a cup of water. You’re only suppose to take one spoonful a day before you do anything and no more than one spoonful a day. Pretty much she stated that the apple cider vinegar cut out fat in the stomach, etc etc. I’d definitely research this method for reviews before trying.
With that being said, everyday start eating healthier and drinking more water. If you’re not doing either, challenge yourself for 2 weeks and watch the weight start falling off.
