Pinky Promise 2015 was an amazing experience hosted by the beautiful and anointed Heather Lindsey! This was my second conference I attended and I enjoyed it just as much as the previous one in 2014. I’m going to do my best to do a mini-detailed recap of the conference. I hope you enjoy!!!
Highlights of the 4 day conference:;
The marriage speaker, Pastor Dorcas Bonilla
She was phenomenal! Wow! This lady spoke on some very important things that I will take for life whenever I get married.
How to honor and submit to your husband is a MAJOR subject she stayed on that really hit home with me.
Practical Ways to honor your husband:
1. Let your husband make major decisions (you can give advice)
2. Give room for freedom to fail
3. Have clear communication. Let your husband know what your needs are (men can’t read your mind)
4. Encourage your husband
5. Be content with what your husband makes
How to submit:
1. Be filled by the holy spirit
2. Be kind
4. Remember that forgiveness is a daily decision
She did elaborate on these things; I’m just sharing the snippets from my notes. One thing to keep in mind is to be HOLY SPIRIT LED and continuously asking the Lord to lead you, fill you up, and control you!
The singles speaker, Lindsey Bussey
This lady was so real and so honest! I enjoyed her speaking a lot! She shared:
Things that can cause you from not having what God has for you:
1. Complaining with actions and with words
2. Comparing (learn to love)
3. Having a critical attitude
4. Compromising (don’t exchange conviction for compromise)
One thing Lindsey stated that stood out to me was, “God doesn’t need help. Trust him.”
Thursday night was pretty much a relaxed day. Meet and greet pinky promise sisters, get settled into hotel room, and that night we had an AMAZING praise and worship experience. I was simply blown away by the music, the singers, the band, EVERYTHING!
Friday night, Cornelius Lindsey was the speaker and the message was titled, “Blood on our hand” WOW! This message was awesome. One thing that stood out to me was when he mentioned, “WE MUST EMBODY THE GOSPEL” The gospel is not to be debated, but to be lived! I really enjoyed this sermon and I thank God for conviction because my toes were stepped on with some things he mentioned
Saturday night, Heather Lindsey was the speaker and her message was titled, “The Final Marriage”. I took some really great notes from her speaking, one thing that really stood out to me was when she stated, “When people meet you, you shouldn’t be able to blend in with your friends. People should know you’re different”. Her entire message was AWESOME! I enjoyed how she gave a reference to the 11 virgins as well. It was broken down so easy to understand and it was so relatable. Gosh! If you haven’t read it in the bible, right it down and study it (Matthew 25:1-13)
Sunday morning message, Cornelius Lindsey message was titled, “Keeping the Faith”. The message was right on time and I was definitely renewed after hearing it. Something that greatly stood out to me was when Cornelius stated, “My faith is too valuable to relinquish. Keep the faith. Keep Running.”
There’s really sooo much more stuff I want to say, but this blog would be entirely too long. If you want a copy of my detailed notes from the sermons or the direct links online to watch them, please comment below or message me so I can send it to you.
Continue having a blessed day and I hope you enjoyed my blog!
